Meet the Characters with Sheri Fredricks

sheri coverHello and welcome to my blog for another round of Meet the Characters!  Today I am featuring a guest blogger who has graciously agreed to let me do a character interview, which is my favorite kind of interview. Join me in welcoming author, Sheri Fredricks, and her characters from Troll-y Yours. It’s a fantastic erotic/fantasy romance with wonderful characters so without further ado here is the interview with Aleksander and Ella.

How did you first meet your writer?

Ella: Sheri was stalking me. Probably doesn’t think I saw her, but I did. Tried ditching her in the Centaur tunnels and it was like she had a map of the place—always stayed two steps ahead of me.

Aleksander: (displays his famous heartbreaker smile)  Don’t worry, Sweet-thing. No more stalkers, you’re safe with me. To answer Jennifer’s question, I met Sheri through a mutual friend; the palace Remedy Maker, Rhycious.

Did you ever think that your life would end up being in a book?

Aleksander: It’s no surprise to me. I am, after all, every female’s fantasy come to life—

Ella:  For the love of Bacchus! Give it a rest, Al.

What are your favorite scenes in your book: the action, the dialog or the romance?

Ella: (looks at Aleksander and smiles, warm and dreamy) The best part of Troll-y Yours is when all but one loop was removed from around your neck and I held the end of the rope. I loved our ceremony. The sexy scenes were my favorite.

Aleksander: I recall the last loop was a noose, and it tightened down on me. (Winks)  Loving you throughout the book is a given, but my favorite scenes are when we’re together.

Do you infiltrate your writer’s dreams?

Aleksander: (gives a hearty laugh and rubs his goatee)  As Head Centaur Guard, it’s my training to infiltrate. As the former, most highly sought-after bachelor in all Boronda, I can’t help but invade the dreams of females!

Ella: (rolls eyes)

What do you like to do when you are not being actively read somewhere?

Aleksander: I like to fu—

Ella: (backhands Al in the chest) We’re practicing being domestic these days.

Are you happy with the genre your writer has placed you in?

Ella:  Being of Troll nationality, I can’t imagine myself anywhere else. Al either, for that matter. Though I suppose he could cross the border into paranormal-land since he’s a shape-shifting Centaur.

If you could rewrite anything in your book, what would it be?

Aleksander: I’d have Sheri rewrite where the villainess makes her escape. Maybe give me more beer in my fridge, too.

Do you like the way the book ended?

Ella: Yes, and no. Yes, because I’ve been claimed by my mated husband. And what female wouldn’t want to be mated to Al? No, because I gave all the really cool clothes back and now I have to start from scratch.

Aleksander: (reaches for Ella’s hand and licks between her fingers. She snatches it back, but smiles) Of course I’m happy with the ending. We ended up in bed together, again. And we’ll stay there until the next book is written! Ha!

Would you be interested in a sequel, if your writer was so inclined?

Aleksander: I understand that Book 3 of The Centaurs is already on the storyboard.

Ella: How did you hear that? I swear, I’m always the last to find out.

Do have any secret aspirations that your author doesn’t know about?

Ella:  I plan on scheduling more speed-dating opportunities for the mythics of Boronda Forest. Just imagine…what if I franchised??

Aleksander:  Uh….

What do you do for a living?

Aleksander: I’m Kempor Aleksander, Head Centaur Guard.

Ella: Yeah-yeah. Big Al, we all got it.

What is your greatest fear?

Aleksander: I fear nothing and no one.

Ella: Ahem

Aleksander:  Except for my little Troll when she’s pissed-off.

What do you wear when you go to sleep?

Aleksander and Ella:  Nothing!

What is your most prized possession?

Ella and Aleksander: My husband. My wife.

Who was your first girlfriend/boyfriend and what do you like most about them?

Aleksander: (Ella is quiet, but turns to face Aleksander) Her name was..err…is Pennelope. And there’s nothing I like about her any longer. I loathe the bitch.

What do you think your greatest weakness is?

Ella: (laughs) The power of the fork. It’s why I’m not stick thin.

Aleksander: Your curves are what I find attractive, Sweet-thing. But my weakness is my stallion nature, where Ella is concerned. The need to protect her is overwhelming at times.

What do you think is your strongest attribute?

Aleksander: The love I carry for Ella within my heart.

Ella: Oh, gag. (rolls eyes) Al’s best trait is his leadership ability. Without it, the Centaur kingdom would be lost. Mine…I guess to stay focused and finish what I start.

What embarrasses you?

Ella: The size of my ass.

Aleksander: Later, I’ll be the judge of that. And I hold no embarrassment. I’m Kempor Aleksander. (gives his tail a thorough swish)

Ella: It’s true. I haven’t found anything that mortifies the male.

Determined to forge a better life, Ella launches her new business with high hopes—until a sexy Centaur bumps into her and throws her life off course. Voted “Most Eligible Bachelor in Boronda”, Aleksander shakes up her world and tilts her in more ways than one.

Years of warfare and countless bedroom encounters have stolen Kempor Aleksander’s luster for life. He never expects to rediscover his zeal in the small, redheaded form of Ella the Troll, who fires his blood hotter than the deepest caverns in the forest.

But as trouble lingers in their midst—and edges ever closer—Alek and Ella spiral into troubled terrain. Turning to each other, the pair face down dangers that run impenetrably deep in their mythological world. But will the two lovers discover a passion that runs even deeper?

“Oooh, Kempor Aleksander. Your arms are so big.”

“Yes, thank you—”

“I’ll be your date tonight!”

“Choose me, and you’ll never look at another female again,” a little Satyr who’d jumped up on a vacated chair, shouted.

Surprised at her outlandish boast, Alek gaped at her. “That’s what I’m afraid of.”

She beamed in return, clearly not following his two-fold message.

The sea of coy fluttering lashes, fake smiles, and overly bright eyes repelled him faster than a strip teasing Minotaur. Male or female, the bovines made excellent soldiers. Dancers . . . they were not.

All that aside, Alek wasn’t interested in the same old take-out menu.

Ignoring the plumped-up breasts displayed in come-and-get-me form, he searched the thinning crowd for a familiar red head—and found her taking names on that infernal clipboard, near the front door. Anger curled low in his belly when he noted her small hand pushing away the same dirty Minotaur male who’d bothered her at the bar.

Ella stepped away, only to have the Minotaur shadow her movement.

“Excuse me, ladies. I have your names, so I’ll bid each of you safe journey tonight.” Alek dodged the groping hands that patted his firm hindquarters.

The Satyr girl tried to cup him below as her doe eyes gleamed mischief in brown seduction, bleated a heated proposal in low tones.

I’ve lost my fucking mind if I walk away from the offer of three females in a bed, to rescue a Troll who waves her dislike for me like a red flag.

His four legs moved of their own accord. The throng of milling speed daters, parted to give him a direct path.

Insane—or perhaps wholly in his right mind—the element of Aleksander’s soldier nature, led him to protect the scowling Ella.

Always on the hunt for the uncommon things in life, award-winning author Sheri Fredricks thrives on creating adventures in her mythological kingdom for her readers.

A former engineering secretary, Sheri lives on the beautiful central coast of California. “I wanted to move away from inflexible right angles and create an unboxed world with no boundaries.” A voracious reader since her early years, Sheri found her brain crowded with stories and characters of her own. “Ultimately,” she says, “my husband encouraged me to write them all down.”

Sheri loves to spend time at home. A computer hutch keeps her focused on creating stories, but the panoramic view of life on a ranch will call her outside to play in the sun.
